A romantic story (maybe too romantic story) based on Nicholas Sparks with Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner. A romantic movie with undeveloped characters and not so unique storyline.

In it's book, bestselling author Nicholas Sparks tells a story of a man whose brushes with death lead him to the love of his life.  The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny.

Film synopsis: U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive—a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

This movie was not unforgettable, but if you really need a romantic movie for a saturday evening, you can choose this. Watching The lucky one you will get exactly what you expect after watching the following trailer: a standard romance with sentimental scenes and averagely entertaining story.
